
Foreign Arbitral Award Enforcement and Award Annulment in Indonesia: Recent Developments Making Indonesia A More Arbitration-Supportive Jurisdiction

Recent developments where Indonesian courts have enacted procedures and issued judgments that position Indonesia to be a more arbitration-supportive jurisdiction. The developments include Supreme Court Regulation No. 3 of 2023 on the Procedure for the Appointment of Arbitrators by the Court, Challenge of Arbitrators, and Examination on Application for Enforcement and Annulment of Arbitral Awards as well as two Constitutional Court judgments, issued in January 2025, dealing with the provisions relevant to the enforcement of international arbitral awards within Law No. 30 of 1999 on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Settlement.
